THE GOOD – What makes HostGator a Smart Choice?

• HostGator accepts payment on a monthly basis, yearly basis, or bi-yearly basis unlike other competitors. Well this certainly works for customers who do not feel like committing to a provider right away.

• All hosting plans do not include set up fees and other hidden cost. This is usually what is disappointing in many low-cost web hosts that often make their pricing sound like the best deal when in fact, there is still so much to be paid on top of their prices.

• Impressive customer support. HostGator is known for its reliable customer support that is not difficult to reach. Many reviews talk about their excellent technical support that is available 24/7.

45 Day Money Back Guarantee. If you haven’t experienced web hosting then most probably you haven’t realize the gravity of money back guarantee. Money back guarantee for most web hosts is at 30 day period only. And it really does take more than 30 days before you can really assess if a web host is worth the commitment. The extra 15 days is quite an advantage.

The BAD — What’s not to like about HostGator?

Free add ons and extra features are very limited.

• Speed – Not entirely remarkable
Since HostGator provides Shared Hosting, you must understand that your site will be practically sharing one server to hundreds of different sites. We are not talking about real slow here, but of course customers today can be really impatient.

Knowledge base is not 100% user-friendly. You can’t expect it to be entirely reliable in providing you with what you may need as an amateur in website-building. Although other customer support like live chat and phone is available 24/7, some people opt to rely on knowledge base for some information; unfortunately HostGator database of information may take more patience from users than necessary.

    Hostgator is okay for me.…

Hostgator is okay for me. But I doubt if they belong to the top3 web hosts. I once encountered a problem regarding my website because it was really slow. I couldn’t take it anymore so I contacted their technical support team. The technical support was able to troubleshoot the problem immediately. I was quite impress with their hospitality and seriousness in solving the problem although having a number of incidents where loading speed is slow really turned me off.

      What I like about Hostgator…

What I like about Hostgator is that when you deal with them, they cut to the chase and are very straight forward with everything. I’ve dealt with other web hosts, Hostgator is pretty competitive in terms of the hosting packages that they offer. The monthly basis payment terms and the 45 money back guarantee convinced me to give them a try. I can’t say that they are amazing though. I guess pretty average will do. But at the end of the day, you could say you get what you pay for, but maybe not entirely the best that you can get from a long list of many web hosts today.

I dont regret getting them but I cant say I am totally impressed.

Ive been using hostgator for a couple of months now. No trouble with the team handling customer support, great people to work with. But speed is sometimes a problem. And it totally sucks when it takes so long you know. I hope they can improve on that one.

Website building is never my thing. But people are telling me that I really need one for my profession. I am a photographer. And there is no better way I can showcase my skills and my works than having a website of my own. I decided to go for HostGator since they allow monthly payments. Installation is okay although I am quite impatient whenever I need to upload my photos. Sometimes I wonder if it’s really normal or it would have been better if I got another webhost instead. Ease of use is okay, features are fine, cost is relatively cheaper. But I really hope it can have faster loading speed.

Pretty cheap for features and unlimited stuff. Although I wouldn’t recommend them for websites with heavy content. Might as well get a dedicated server instead. Well, you can’t ask for too much from budget hosts. Hostgator works well with php. I’ve observed a real good support. But if you are looking forward to using Ruby on rails then forget about Hostgator. This host only supports fcgi that makes it pretty slow. But aside from that, it’s a pretty okay webhost especially for small business websites.

If I were to choose between dozens of domain hosting services, i will probably choose hostgator. Well, I did already. The beautiful thing about is that it has wonderful customer service. For me, that is one of the most important factors that you should consider because great customer service means that they do care about their customers and not only their profits. Also, the uptime, the almost flawless one, gives me comfort and joy everytime i search for my site using another computer.

Though hostgator is a little pricey, it is still a good domain. THe millions of users of this domain can be a good sign or a bad sign. first off, it is a bad sign because with millions of registered users, you can assume that downtimes happens often. you cannot deny the fact that hostgator can really support those number of users. And the other part of it, is that having millions of users can make you sure and pure with hostgator’s quality. you can be certain that it won’t falter because the other million didnt.

if I can just put hostgator in a bag, I will do that immediately. After I put it in a bag, I will just bring it anywhere that I want to go because it is as versetile as your own laptop. Though it has almost 2 million users, it can still be maintained by admins and techs. although there are downsides from time to time, it will always be there when you need it the most.
